Be Bold. Get Cold.

Taters' mission is to harness the enthusiasm and generosity of the bourbon world for the charitable good of the community. We are at our best when we can check all of those boxes. Enter our latest Knob Creek Single Barrel Select Rye pick. The truth is that good single barrel picks are simply getting harder and harder to find. So when Taters gets a chance to participate in a great pick, we jumped at the chance to not only make the pick, but share the opportunity with our members.

Last summer's dinner tasting event with Log Still distiller Wally Dant, gave Taters the chance to give our members "the barrel pick experience" through a Tater Tasting Team.

Although Julie Burkholder also had the chance to select this barrel, she was unavailable to participate. Nevertheless, after assembling at headquarters during our fall bottle drive, our team chose to dedicate this barrel pick to Julie and her amazing chartable efforts with Special Olympics of Indiana.

Meanwhile, it was Eric Zehner that led the way for the team, helping guide them through the “difficult” task.

The nerdiest of bourbon nerds know that the US Government requires rye whiskey to be made of at least 51% rye in its mashbill. Taters takes a deep plunge into its mission with Booker's Bear-ly Legal Rye. Our label pays homage to Knob Creek founder Booker Noe as we imagine him taking the Polar Plunge into the frozen waters. What isn't imagined, however, is Taters' pledge to donate to the Special Olympics Indiana for every bottle sold prior to the plunge on February 10th at Metea Park.

So let's talk about the goods!

Key Features:

  • Age: 8 years

  • Proof: 115

  • Mash Bill: 51% Rye, 35% Corn, 10% Malted Barley

We think that our Taters have found a special barrel that is available courtesy of our friends at Belmont Beverage. This Knob Creek Rye Pick is an exceptional deal, combining age, proof and flavor in a way that is truly unparalleled in our current market. You'll find signature notes of vanilla, caramel and baking spices. The additional aging accentuates notes of woody oak and honey. At 115 proof the bold flavors may be just what polar plungers need to Be Bold and Get Cold!

Drink whiskey. Give back. Tater on.
